ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages)
The only national-level organization dedicated to improving and expanding all language study in K-12 and post-secondary settings. ACTFL is responsible for developing language teaching standards, known as the Five C's.
ASLTA (American Sign Language Teacher's Association)
The professional organization of ASL teachers nationwide at all levels of instruction. Some ASLTA activities include:- national conferences state / local chapters providing workshops
- certification for ASL teachers
- ASL Honor Society (open to all levels)
- Special interest groups on ASL-related issues
TeachASL
A communication listserv for ASL teachers at any level of instruction.
